New Chairman Ondřej Průša: We Need More Communication

Shortly after the conclusion of the Final Four of the 2025 Czech Cup, we met with the new Chairman of the Czech-Moravian Ball Hockey Association, Ondřej Průša, right in the stands of Plzeň’s Precol Arena. Despite the hectic tournament schedule, he found a moment for a brief chat.
The Czech Cup as a Perfect Showcase of Ball Hockey
The Final Four of the Czech Cup had not only a competitive spirit but also a strong social dimension. That’s exactly where we caught up with Ondřej Průša, who is gradually getting to know his new role in the world of ball hockey. “I met a lot of familiar faces here at the Czech Cup, and after years, we finally had the chance to talk again,” admitted the new chairman of ČMSHb, adding: “I even spoke with players and officials I hadn’t met before. It was not only pleasant but, above all, very positive.”
The fact that there wasn’t nearly enough time for conversation reflects the atmosphere in the stands, where coaches, players, and club officials continuously stopped by to greet the new chairman. Of course, the conversation also touched on the tournament itself. And the impression Ondřej Průša took away was overwhelmingly positive:“For me, this event is excellent. Both from an organizational and sporting perspective. The games were high-quality, close, and exciting. Ideal for spectators and the teams themselves.” In his opinion, the Czech Cup showed that ball hockey has a lot to offer even in single-event formats. These kinds of tournaments can help attract more fans in the future, as well as partners and sponsors – people the new chairman is already beginning to meet.
First Impressions of the Association? Communication and Empowering Colleagues
At the end of the interview, we also touched on topics related to the leadership of the association. Ondřej Průša is still new to the role, but he already sees several key areas that will be crucial for further progress: “I can see that we need to communicate more – not just internally, but also outward toward the broader community,” he said candidly. He added: “We have many talented and hardworking colleagues, full of ideas. We need to give them space to take part in the association’s operation, allow them room for self-fulfillment, but also hold them accountable for their work. That’s how we can all move forward together.”
So, the Final Four of the Czech Cup wasn’t just a tournament for a trophy – it was also a place for new encounters, exchanging ideas, and talking about the future of ball hockey. And it’s in this kind of environment that a new chapter under Ondřej Průša’s leadership is beginning to take shape.
