The U21 national team will close the season against Slovakia

The oldest junior national team will play two friendly matches against Slovakia at the hockey stadium in Litomyšl on August 14 – 15, 2021. The head coach Tomáš Friml and his colleagues nominated 2 goalkeepers, 8 defenders and 13 forwards.

Everyone would be certainly interested in how the final roster was chosen, when the season was interrupted for a long time and now shortened competitions were played for few weeks. “We had a debate about the nomination as to which players to invite, whether those who had gone through the three years cycle or those who played regularly at the end of the season. In the end, we have decided for the players who had been with us in last three years and played in their clubs. There is only one new name in the nomination,” said Tomáš Friml.

In the team of very strong years 2000-2001, there are several adepts who could compete for the nomination for the men’s national team. “I think that there are several high quality players in our team and certainly have chance to be able to fight for the nomination for the men’s national team,” agrees the head coach of U21. “I have already spoken with men’s on this topic and we have agreed that we will sit together and discuss players who could fight for the nomination,” reveals Friml.
